Wow, what an amazing weekend!
First and foremost a quick thank you to all the sponsors of the 2010 B-List Conference and to all the bloggers who made the trip to DC/Alexandria, VA. We're all still recovering from all the miles traveled and ideas shared this weekend, so we'll keep this brief and stick to the highlights (but fear not, plenty more to come!) Be sure to check our members blogs for their pics and thoughts on the weekend (The Inspired Bride already did!)
Friday
night local DC-area vendors, as well as a few who flew in from as far
away as Seattle (thanks John!) joined the B-List bloggers at the
Torpedo Factory for our annual Meet & Greet. Design Cuisine
created an amazing menu, including a Prosecco DIY-bar where guests
could add their own flavors to their glass. Each hors d’oeurves was
named after a blogger: Think Splendid’s Crab Cakes, Bridal Bar’s Sliding Oyster Bar and Lollipop Lobster Rolls. Holly Chappelle Flowers created beautiful floral arrangement including a DIY Bride Pop-Up Bar, which featured a centerpiece with the names and logos of the B-List blogs. The DIY Bride Pop-Up Bar served up food that, well, popped: Buttered popcorn, caramel popcorn and pop tarts. We also had an adorable birthday cake by Brooklyn's own Nine Cakes made for our birthday girl, The Inspired Bride. DC Rentals provided all the furniture and some great vignettes of their products.
The wedding and event entertainment and bands were by Elan Artists, with photography by Carlos Andres Varela and Shane Carpenter. Guests had fun taking crazy pictures in the Smilebooth we had set up, with a gorgeous backdrop designed from Ashley at Dolci Odille.
Saturday was a full day of meetings at the Lloyd House in Old Town. (Sorry, but conference discussions are confidential.)
Our lunch break, provided by Design Cuisine were served in a “something blue” box from Smock. The menu featured something old, new and borrowed.
After
the meetings we moved to The Hive and got “buzzed” at the new home of
Ritzy Bee Events, Kate Headley Photography and Simplesong Design.
The last event of the conference took place Sunday morning at Williams-Sonoma at the Mazza Gallery in Maryland. B-Listers were treated to a cooking technique class, tips on registering for wedding gifts and got a peak at some of the latest cooking tools and gadgets available. I think every blogger is going to be ordering the Williams-Sonoma croissants.
Looking forward to mini-B-List events throughout 2010 and the 3rd Annual B-List Conference in California next year!
Special thanks to our financial sponsors: Envelopments, Pottery Barn and WEtv/Wedding Central who helped underwrite some of the costs of the conference and made it possible.
We also have to thank some special B-Listers who helped us with the conference: Maria and Kelly from Ritzy Bee for coordinating all the events in VA (CA has a lot to live up to!), Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper for helping with our swag bags, Courtney from Little White Book, Anne-Marie from Perfect Bound and Darci from With This Ring for helping with the blog, Erica from Thoughtful Day for designing our fab totes and logo, and Liene from Think Splendid for being our Twitter guru!
Stay tuned for membership and conference details, and LOTS more pictures to come!
